Dental implants come in 3 parts. The actual implant replaces the root of the tooth. It is a tapered screw or post about 1cm long that we put into specially created channels in your jawbone. Once the implant is in place, the titanium from which it is made will set off a process of fusion with the bone, which will grow new tissue all over its surface. Depending on your individual healing speed, this takes 2-6 months to complete.
Once the integration process is over, we can attach your crowns. We do this by first putting in a connecting piece and then adding the crowns to that.
